Bridges for Newborns

We Are Here To Help
The Bridges for Newborns program at South Coast Global Medical Center is one of four Early Action programs developed by the Children and Families Commission to improve the health and welfare of children in Orange County.

Through the Bridges for Newborns program, we may assist your family in a variety of ways. Our coordinator is available to help identify health insurance coverage options for your newborn, as well as pediatricians and other community resources to help provide the care.

Our coordinator will follow-up with your family to ensure well-baby check-ups and immunizations are completed in the early months and that you are linked to on-going primary care. We may also assess your situation and identify any community resource referrals you might need such as:

  • Daycare
  • Parent Support Groups
  • Play Groups
  • Free Immunizations
  • Women Infant Children Centers (W.I.C.)
  • Low-Cost Health Insurance
  • Employment Training

In addition, upon delivery at South Coast Global Medical Center, a Bridges for Newborns coordinator will present you with a special gift that includes educational videos on caring for your newborn.

Sharing With Others
When you’re a new parent, it’s especially helpful to talk with others who are experiencing many of the same things you are. That is why we offer our Bridges for Newborns participants a Newborn Celebration party. It’s a chance to ask a maternity nurse questions you may have about caring for your newborn, share your experiences with other new mothers over refreshments. Call 714-754-5579 for dates and times of our Newborn Celebration.

It’s Free. It’s Easy.
Whether you’re pregnant or have recently delivered, it’s easy to get involved in the Bridges for Newborns program at South Coast Global Medical Center. There is no cost. Simply complete a Bridges for Newborns questionnaire at the hospital. Or call us to speak with our program coordinator at 714-754-5579. (Se habla Espanol)
